eSIM for Herzliya: Data for Business Trips and Beach Days
Working or relaxing in Herzliya? Get Israeli 5G/4G data by QR code before you land, with a hotspot for your laptop and an Israeli number available.
Two reasons to need good data in Herzliya
Herzliya sits just north of Tel Aviv, and visitors tend to come for one of two reasons. Herzliya Pituach is one of Israel's best-known high-tech districts, so many people arrive for meetings and conferences. The same area also has beachfront hotels, a large marina and the cliff-top Apollonia National Park, so plenty of others come simply to enjoy the coast.
In both cases your phone does a lot of the work: video calls, maps, ride bookings, restaurant reservations and translation. An eSIM gives you a local data connection without a physical card or a stop at a shop. With eSIM Israel, the QR code reaches your email instantly after your order, so you can install it before you fly and have data as soon as you are in Israel. The eSIM is delivered live: as soon as the payment goes through, the QR code appears on the confirmation page, and a copy is also sent by email.

What to expect from the signal
Herzliya is served by the same Israeli networks as the rest of the country, with 5G where it has been rolled out and 4G elsewhere. In the streets, at the marina and along the beach, everyday use and video calls should work well. As in any city, reception can be weaker in underground car parks, in the middle of large office buildings and deep inside shopping centres.
If you have an important call, take a minute to test it from where you will be sitting. Moving closer to a window often makes a real difference.
For business travellers
Hotel and conference Wi-Fi is shared with everyone around you, and it is often at its slowest when you need it most. A personal data connection gives you a second route, and a few habits help you get the most from it:
- Use your phone as a hotspot: connect your laptop to your phone's personal hotspot for email and video calls between meetings.
- Keep your home line active: on a dual-SIM phone, your regular number stays on for calls and texts, including security codes, as long as your home plan allows it abroad.
- Test your work tools early: if your company requires a VPN, try it over mobile data on your first day rather than five minutes before a client call.
- Plan your data for long calls: regular video meetings use far more data than email, so choose a plan with room to spare.
Getting around
Herzliya has a station on the railway line to Tel Aviv, but it lies on the other side of Highway 2 from the Pituach offices and the beach, so most people finish the journey by bus or taxi. Moovit shows public transport options and Gett is the usual taxi app in Israel. Traffic between Herzliya and Tel Aviv can be heavy at rush hour, and Waze is the app most Israelis use to work around it. Trains stop from Friday afternoon until Saturday night, and many buses do too, so plan your weekend journeys in advance.
Setting up your eSIM
It only takes a moment, preferably on Wi-Fi and before you travel:
- Check that your phone supports eSIM and is carrier-unlocked. Most recent iPhone, Samsung Galaxy and Google Pixel models qualify.
- Add the eSIM from your cellular or mobile settings by scanning the QR code from your email.
- Turn on Data Roaming for the eSIM line. The plan runs on Israeli networks, but many phones treat it as a foreign line and block data until this is on.
- If data does not start, check that the APN is set to "internet".
An Israeli number and longer stays
An Israeli +972 number is available with our plans. It makes it easier for local colleagues, couriers and restaurants to reach you, and some local apps and booking forms only accept an Israeli number. If you are relocating or working in Herzliya for a longer period, choose a prepaid duration that covers your stay, or look at our monthly plan.
