7, 15, 30 or 60 Days: Choosing the Right Prepaid Duration

How to pick a prepaid duration that matches your trip instead of guessing, why arrival and departure days are the ones people miscount, and what to do if you end up staying longer.

Two separate decisions get mixed up constantly: how long the plan runs, and how much data it carries. The duration is the simpler of the two — as long as you count the right days.

Count days, not nights

This is where most people get it wrong. A trip that lands on a Sunday evening and leaves the following Sunday morning is eight calendar days of coverage, not seven. And the last morning is precisely when you need a taxi to the airport.

When in doubt, round up

The price gap between two durations is small. Being disconnected on your last morning is not. If you fall between two options, take the longer one.

Matching duration to the trip

TripDurationNote
Weekend or short business trip7 daysCovers arrival and departure days comfortably.
Standard holiday15 daysThe usual choice for a one- or two-week stay.
Long holiday, family visit, a month away30 daysAlso the right length for a first month while you settle in.
Extended stay, seasonal work, study term60 daysCosts less per day than buying 30 days twice.

Data is a separate decision

Duration is about the calendar; data is about how you use the phone. Any data plan can run for any of the durations, so choose them independently.

  • 20 GB — maps, messaging, browsing, the occasional video.
  • 50 GB — daily video, and hotspot for a laptop now and then.
  • 100 GB — remote work, regular tethering, heavy streaming.

When does the clock start?

The plan runs from the start date you choose at checkout, not from the day you pay. You can order well in advance and install the eSIM at home without losing a single day — which is the whole point of buying before you leave.

If you end up staying longer

You do not need a new eSIM. The same line can be recharged, keeping the same Israeli number and the same installed profile. Recharging is also the answer if you get through the data faster than expected.

常见问题

Does the plan start when I buy it?
No. It starts on the activation date you choose at checkout, so you can buy and install in advance without losing days.
My trip is 20 days — what should I take?
Take 30 days rather than 15 plus a recharge, unless you specifically prefer to spread the cost.
Can I extend a 7-day plan?
Yes, by recharging the same line. You keep your number and reinstall nothing.
